Damn that’s a lot of miles. My grandfathers truck of the same vintage has like 1/3 of that.

mah truck

Naw. Diesel is the way to go

Has to be a lot of highway miles, I hope.

Its a base model. It might go another 400,000 miles, but you’ll hate every one of them.
Personally i wouldn’t mind, but i only need a comfy seat,A/C and a stereo. I like driving my 94 hooptie corolla more than my 5 series because its so basic. Like i saod, A/C a comfy seat, and a radio (in my corollas case, with 1 working speaker)

No, I have a deep love for base model vehicles, especially big trucks. Window cranks and vinyl floors are kinda my thang. Besides, less crap to break.

There’s just something about a big truck with a gas engine that I love. Until I fill it up.

Pictures don’t suggest something hard like farm use but it’s also odd there’s no tailgate. Seems pretty nice, Ford’s definitely will last granted rust doesn’t get to them.

Thats why i bought a powerstroke. can get good mpg if i dont get on it

Then I’d jump on this. I prefer crew cab myself but that truck will run forever

That’s an interesting colour. Almost looks like the same colour as my SHO.

What’s better, the 10 MPG or relative lack of torque and power?
![]() 06/13/2015 at 01:42 |

Gas powered SuperDuty is no bueno. You can find an older 7.3 ‘Stroke with 200,000 and another 300,000 left in it every day. I really have no idea why people bought these with gas engines.

I’m selling my 95. 97K on the clock, but it’s an F-150. Cloth seats and quarter lights are standard.
Very very base truck compared to the LuxoBarges that are sold today.

That’s amazing to me that a base model truck with that many miles, is still $12k.
![]() 06/13/2015 at 08:05 |

Why not both?
(351 Windsor. Not known for power or efficiency in truck applications)

High millage? Anything under 200k is low millage.

Since my DD is down, I drive one of these everyday and it’s hate filled.
Once it has a load of dirt or a Miller welder in the back of rides great. If it’s empty, it tries to break out your teeth. I drive a turbo Subaru, but this truck is even worse about fast driving. If I drive like grand pa, I can get decent mileage. If I drive like a teenager I swear it gets 4-5 mpg
If you NEED it, you can’t do better. If you WANT it, I would look else where.

Oh, you.

It’s got a fifth-wheel ball hitch in the bed, I’m sure it towed a lot.

I drove a base model Ranger for 5 years, I got used to the bouncy, hoppy, crashy ride. I used it as a commuter (29-31 mpg) and almost always had an empty bed. Also I’ve spent a lot of the last 7 years in and out of various cargo vans and they ride just as bad when empty. I’m thick-skinned.

Those F-series trucks are my favorite. I have an irrational love for the straight six.

Truck prices are crazy.

Yep. I bought a brand new ‘06 Sierra crew cab 2wd for under $22k out the door. 9 years and 105k miles later, I could still probably get $10k for it. Blows my mind.

I guess I’ll just have to go back to constantly pestering my mom and stepdad to sell/give me their old ‘91 F-150 4x4 with a 302 and a manual.
I haven’t talked to my dad in a while, maybe I should try talking him into selling me his ‘92 4x4 with the straight six and manual. After all, he has a 2006 (I think) Super Duty, so he doesn’t necessarily need the ‘92.

Mine has a Windsor V8, but the 300 I6 is quite nice.
Also, mine has far less money involved, but with truck prices the way they are, I may be able to sell it for what I paid for it three years ago.

The I6 is nice, but so sloooooooow.

If you want a ‘95 with a 351W, and 97K miles and change on the odometer, I have one for sale in my driveway.

If I suddenly have the money, I’d definitely consider it. Auto or stick?
![]() 06/13/2015 at 12:24 |
|
It’s auto with a 3.55 limited slip rear diff. Which isn’t a bad thing considering the F-150 had a Mazda manual from a car, and thus was not rated to actually tow anything beyond a Class I trailer.

That’s probably lots of highway miles, should be good though.

haha true.

Perfect color, great engine choice, like the wheelbase. Don’t care about the miles, it's good for many more. WANT
